How to Turn an iPod Nano off and Save on Power

The ipod nano has no tradition on/off button. This leaves one with the dilemma of how to turn an ipod nano off. Powering on the ipod is made by a touch, but turning it off becomes tricky; this is because waiting for an automatic shut down wastes the battery life while surfing through the device yields no means to shut down the device. With the knowledge to turn it off one finds it as easy as turning it on.

On should first locate the hold and lock switch. It is usually located on the left side of the top of the device. The device should be unlocked in order to be able to power it off. When the ipod is locked the orange bar is usually visible but when unlocked the bar is not visible. Locate the play and pause button on the device. The buttons are usually located at the bottom of the control wheel. Press on the play/pause button to power off the device. The wheel should not be touched since it might power on again on touch. Locate the lock and hold buttons again at the top of the ipod and slide the lock button to the lock position making sure the orange bar is visible.
