An essential part of printer maintenance is swapping out old or spent toner cartridges for new ones. It is an activity all printer users must do during the lifespan of a printer. The post today will focus on how to install the HP 48A Toner Cartridge.
The HP 48A Toner Cartridge is compatible with two compact monochrome laser printers, the HP LaserJet Pro M15w, and HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w. These two printers are considered workhorses for home offices and small offices that are interested in an all one printer that is optimized for printing high quality black and white images at a fast rate.
The typical indicator that a replacement toner cartridge is required for these printers is when the print quality is no longer sharp. These printers require the installation of the HP App on a mobile device or a PC to verify their actual ink levels.
After verifying the ink levels and confirming that replacement toner is indeed required. It is a relatively straightforward process to swap out the old toner for the new one after the new one is delivered. First, the old toner must be removed from the printer. The printer lid is opened to expose the toner. Then the handles attached to the toner are used to lift it out. It is important that the old toner be disposed-off carefully in an environmentally friendly manner or recycled. The prepping of the new HP 48A Toner Cartridge should be done over a bin in case there is any mess generated. The bin will be used to catch any toner powder that leaks from the toner cartridge. Remove the new toner cartridge from its bag. Then use the handle of the toner to slide it down the guide rails above the drum unit until it clicks into place. Then rotate the handles of the toner cartridge until it locks into position. And voila! , you have completed the installation. The video in this link provides more details on the installation.
