How to Transfer Music from iPod to iTunes Library

As long as your computer is recognized as an authorized computer by the iPod you should be able to find out how to transfer music from iPod to iTunes library. This simply means that you do not have to purchase the music you enjoy multiple times to enjoy it on separate devices. Once your computer is authorized you will be able to back up all your music files to the computer from the iPod.

On your PC, open up the iTunes program and go to the store that is listed in the menu on the left. Once in the store you can choose to authorize the computer. Depending on your log in procedures you will need to choose Apple ID or AOL. Then you will be prompted to enter your user ID along with the password. After you are logged in click on “authorize” and then iTunes and the Apple store will recognize the computer as a device with which files can be shared.

Now connect the iPod to your PC using the USB cable. Locate the “transfer purchases” option and then choose to “transfer purchases from ‘your iPod’”.  It should only take a short time to transfer the music from your iPod to the iTunes library.
