How to Reset iPhone to Factory Settings

There may come a time when you will need to know how to reset iPHone to factory settings in order to restore the phone to correct an operating issue. The iPhone is designed with a touch screen that allows you to touch it and launch applications. You can type on the keyboard on the phone and you can use the camera in the front of the phone for making video calls. The camera on the rear of the phone is for still photos and videos. You can connect to the Wi-Fi and check your email or surf the Web. You can listen to music, watch videos, or simply download and read a book.

Using all these different applications may eventually cause the screen to freeze or the phone to lock up. If you want to erase the data files on the phone you can reset the phone to the factory settings. Dock the phone to the computer with the USB cable. If you do not have a computer available plug the end that you would plug into the computer into a power adapter and plug the adapter into an electrical outlet. Touch the home button and find the ‘settings’ and ‘general’. Next find ‘reset’ and opt to ‘erase all content and settings.’ This will reset everything on the phone to the defaults that were programmed at the factory. All the information that you stored on your phone will be erased.
